Okay. In this game (just the first one), the audience member is asked to just go limp and play dead in the scene. Usually, they go half-limp, and do their best to help the person out during the scene by keeping their head up, or remaining standing, or whatever... not going completely limp. But this girl actually got what the game was about!

The Loves of My Life

Okay, okay, I'll get the mushy stuff out of the way: I love Dave. We've both come a long way together, and he's been a trooper.

Secondly, I want to know where this has been all my life - Carmex Moisture Plus!

I'm a Carmex junkie, but the taste... well... bites. Also, I'm not a fan of the "gunkiness" of the squeeze tubes, especially when they get hot, like when you A) leave it in your car, B) carry it in your jeans pocket, or C) live in Hawaii - none of which I do, right? When Dave came back from his Iowa trip, he had so sweetly stocked up on lip stuff at a sale, and one of the products was the Carmex Moisture Plus. Taste - sweet vanilla-ey. Applicator - genius. (Who'da thunk to put a lip product in a lipstick-like tube???) Finish - super smooth and non-gunky. I give it an A+. LOVE IT!

(He also brought me a "click stick" of the new strawberry flavor! I thought their effort at a cherry flavor was noble, but I'm not a cherry anything fan. Love the strawberry stick!)

My next love needs no elaborate explanation - HOBBY LOBBY IS NOW ONLINE! As if this wasn't blessing enough... all orders over $25 get free shipping! That's right. I said it. Free. NO HAWAIIAN STRINGS ATTACHED. Big olllll' goose egg for shipping.

And my last love is a little sentimental - my brother.

Someone once asked me what my favorite toy was when I was little. After giving this a lot of thought, I realized that it was my big brother! (I know that sounds a little weird, but...) He never broke, he never got boring, I never got too big to play with him, and his batteries never came close to dying!

I absolutely adore my brother. He is the most charismatic, ambitious, gun-ho, energetic and outgoing person ever, and I've always dearly admired all those things about him. It's been SO hard to live here and not be able to see or talk to him very often, but it just makes it that much better when I do get a chance. I completely light up around my family, and that's especially true with Jacob, even if it's just a little message on Facebook.

So, shout out to my family, and Jacob and Bridget. I love you so very, very much!

Funny Story...

The doctor prescribed a new medicine for me on Friday, and I first took it Saturday morning. I felt extremely light-headed every time I stood up, and I was exhausted! I was awake for maybe 4 out of 24 hours that day. Okay - new medicine, side effects, it happens, we'll see how the next day goes. Well, we start looking a little more closely at the prescription, and it doesn't appear to be the same name as what the doctor told us. Is it just the generic brand? If so, where's the correct name? It says it's prescribed for the right thing, so it must be right. Either way, I'm not feeling great, so I write an email to the doctor, asking him if there's anything I should do differently.

I was a little less tired, but slept through church the next day. Why was I feeling so tired? And it wasn't one of those "I-overslept-so-I'm-drowsy" kind of tired, either; it was a flat out exhausted kind of tired. BUT! The doctor won't be in until Tuesday, so, wait we shall.

Monday rolls around. I feel better than the day before, but still wiped out.

Tuesday rolls around, and I get a message on my phone from the doctor saying, "Uh, yeah, you said you were having side effects from (whatever it's called)? That's not what I prescribed. That's a terribly powerful drug that I don't work with... I'll try your husband's number."

So! Instead of my regular medication, I was given a MASSIVE TRANQUILIZER!

Vinyl

As some of you may know, I've been turning a few wheels to start selling vinyl cutouts.

(Just a quick overview, I can cut vinyl on my Cricut machine into any shape, letter, phrase, whatever. Since the vinyl is adhesive on one side, you can use it to decorate your walls. It's very inexpensive, easy to personalize, and it's not permanent, so non-home owners don't have to worry about repainting when you take it down.)

Anyway, I finally felt like I had enough information to actually buy some vinyl and start experimenting. (I'm not talking those small quantities they sell at Wal-Mart; I'm talking 5-25 YARDS of this stuff.) So, I went on this website, labeled the best from which to buy, and finally put three rolls into my cart! One of my resources gave me a code I could use, and I'd have free shipping on my first order! How awesome is that?!

Anyway, so I mark everything I want to buy, and proceed to checkout... where I'm told that free shipping deals don't apply to Alaska or Hawaii. Goody. Story of my life. Well, I didn't get too large of an order, so I could still do shipping charges... right? Wrong. The cost of shipping was almost FIFTY DOLLARS! That's more than the price of all the rolls of vinyl - combined!

How do people afford to LIVE HERE?!

December Recapitulation

First of all, Garcias, you need to come home. If you can't tell, your cat is getting a little attention starved:

Secondly, we bought some microwave popcorn that was a little greasy/ buttery on the outside of the bag. To prevent a mess, we decided to put the bags on a plate when we popped it. Can you guess which plate we used?

When Dave got back from Iowa, he took me to a restaurant called Anti Pasta, and I had my first brush with feta... and my last. Gooey room temperature cottage cheese just isn't my thing.

Happy as a cricket

On December 9th, we celebrated our 3rd anniversary! This was a much more meaningful anniversary to us. We're definitely more aware of what an accomplishment three years can be.

I don't think you can tell from the picture, but it started POUNDING rain on Christmas. Dave was so touched - it was like Hawaiian snow. (That's the Latu's place on the left. This shot is looking to the left of our back door.)

We spent Christmas Eve with the Rueckerts! WON-der-ful cooking on their part. (We pretty much cooked a feast for them last year. They owed us.) We brought over our new Super Mario Brothers game! (I played until my noises woke up the baby.) Then we hung out with the Ramos family Christmas day. They invited some other couples, too, and we pretty much played games all day, and ate more delicious food.
