Wii, TV, and Iowa... Oh my!

We still haven't heard about the job... but either way, we are planning on staying here in Hawaii. We have an entire list of reasons, so let me just say that we think it's the right thing for us to do right now.

WII

Since we no longer have to hoard our money for a move to the mainland, we actually got to have a Christmas - we bought a Wii! We couldn't even wait for Christmas Eve/ Day to break it out and start playing. We love it! I have impressed Dave with my mad boxing and hula hooping skills, and he has impressed me with his wonderful snowball fighting skills.

I have also been reminded why my brother didn't like me watching him play Nintendo - because I make little noises the whole time - Gasps, Ooh's!, Watch Out's!, Oh no's!, etc. Dave's also taken joy in discovering a new side of his wife, as I trash-talk and name-call all the villians. (Just things like, "All right, bring it on," or, "Show me whatcha got, Ugly." Nothing bad or vulgar - those things I keep in my head.)

TV

Funny story... we don't have a TV. :) So how are we playing the Wii? Well, the first couple of days, Dave had his projector from work, so we were using that... but then he took it back to work... so we haven't played it since lol. We are now in the market for a TV or projector, and since it hurts me to think about how much we spent on the Wii, I'd REALLY like everyone's help in keeping eyes and ears open for good deals. I thought it would be smart to wait until the day after Christmas, because people will hopefully be upgrading and getting rid of old TV's.

So, to all our friends and family, and especially those nearby, if you hear of any good deals in stores, online, or of someone getting rid of their TV, pleeeeease let us know quickly so we can jump on it.

This *stuff* is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

I don't really like that song actually, lol.

Our dear, sweet friends down the street gave us 23 bananas! Even on our most hungry and healthy of days, we could never finish this many, so come and get 'em! They've started to get some brown spots, but they're still edible. I think I'll keep some for banana bread, but they're all just going to be wasted unless others take them... PLEASE!

Iowa???

Dave had his in-person interview today for a position in Ankeny, Iowa (still through the same company). He said that it went well, and he's feelin' pretty good about it. He said they either really liked him or really hated him lol. They just breezed their way through the interview.

Afterwards, the interviewer told Dave that he was the last interviewee, and they would be coming to a decision soon. They have to send their choice off to somebody else for approval, after which they will extend their offer to their chosen applicant, complete with salary and relocation information.

All this will be happening... before Christmas! Then, they'd like to have whomever they choose working there at the beginning of January! SO! There is a possibility that we could be living on the mainland again in less than a month! How crazy is that?!

P.S. - Yes, Dave is enjoying the snow.
