Sue, you would be so proud of your brother! (Sounds like Allie's into gardening, too?) Inspired by our friends Rusty and Lala, Dave started our own little garden! I think this picture was taken... oh, maybe three or four days after he planted these seeds, lol. Look at 'em grow! We had to move them to our backyard a lot sooner than we expected. I can't remember what all he planted... I know he got corn, lol. :) He also planted lettuce, and tomatoes. (Those are just for me. He hates tomatoes. Isn't he sweet?)
This is my latest project. Not to toot my own horn, but I LOVE how this turned out! It took WAY too long to make, lol, but now I know how to do it next time. We got invited to a (FUN!) birthday party for three of our friends, and I decided to just make one big card. (Yes, I did their names in that order intentionally.) :)
Not AS excited about how the inside turned out, but still...
Just FYI: I'll be leaving for Indiana this upcoming Friday, and Dave will be coming out about a week or so later. (Suh-WEET!) I am SOOOOOOO excited for this trip! My very best guy friend is getting married to a wonderful, amazing girl, and I get to go to their reception! Because of distance and finances, I haven't been able to go to a lot of friend's weddings, so I feel really blessed to be a part of this. This is the wedding gift I made for them. I saw examples of glass etching with the help of, you guessed it, the Cricut, and I had to give it a shot. My first try was on a round surface... gunna have to work on that. We were looking for something to etch for their gift, and Dave spotted these candy jars -- FLAT candy jars, lol! They turned out much better than my first try.
These are the dates of their first kiss, when he proposed, and their wedding day. When I present these, I'm going to put Hershey's Kisses in this one, Ring Pops in the second one, and their favorite candies in the third one. I'll tie some pretty ribbon around them, and maybe put some tissue paper on the inside to make the etching more visible, too... all in their wedding colors. I'm so excited!
This is what Dave's slaving away on right this second. I'm not going to attempt to describe what it is and slander his precious posession, so I'll leave that up to him. But as he's been working on it, our neighbors have come out of the woodwork and helped him work on it.
